Plymouth Jobcentre Plus visit Oceansgate
25 Nov 2016
Pictured to the right are the ladies from Jobcentre Plus Devon, Cornwall and Somerset who came along for a tour of Oceansgate and to hear about the types of jobs we are going to be creating.
We started in Phase 1 at the top end of the site where we expect the construction of the site to create around 1,000 jobs for the build of the industrial units and office space. Once these are built we expect this will create around 1,200 new jobs for the ever growing marine industry.
Moving onto Phase 2 which is expected to create a further 142 jobs in the marine sector, these businesses will either move into one of the listed buildings on site or one of our new offices/light industrial space.
Showing the group around Phase 3 proved how much larger and more complex our final phase is. It is still difficult to predict how many businesses will be operating in Phase 3 by 2020, but with the amount of interest we have had to date we are confident the site will create more new highly skilled jobs for the south west marine sector.
With Oceansgate having strong relationships with Jobcentre Plus, Plymouth and Exeter University, and local schools and colleges, we are confident we will be able to provide businesses with the skilled work personnel they will be seeking.
