Oceansgate is Making Waves!

In the new year, the Oceansgate team is looking forward to the arrival of a steel wave, which will be placed over the rear entrance to Endeavour House. The wave has been designed by local architects, Form Design.

In order to communicate the ongoing story for South Yard, which recognises its historic maritime importance and operational transition from sail to steam power, and now into modern marine technologies, a contemporary installation in the form of a screen of perforated hinged aluminium panels above the rear entrance to Endeavour House is to be installed.

Inspired by Californian-based artist Ned Kahn, the facade ripples in waves, making visible the forces of the wind, evoking a bygone age of sail and heralding a future of maritime enterprise.
