Kier and City College Plymouth Students Collaboration

Students at City College Plymouth have been visiting the Oceansgate site for a series of site-based training sessions, organised by the Kier Group.

These sessions, which are delivered on a weekly basis, are designed for those studying either an HNC or Foundation Degree for roles in the construction industry. The sessions so far have included site management, quantity surveying and digital/BIM (Building Information Modelling).

Future sessions will cover design management, architecture and structural engineering.

These lectures will be followed up by a further session in the future, at which the students will reflect on their progress through a series of small projects.

Kier are keen to arrange these sessions for those studying construction-related courses who have little opportunity to visit a work site.
